The Promises limited edition work is a Hahnemühle German Etching, created by artist Larissa De Jesús Negrón. The work depicts an intimate scene of a woman wearing a gold chain, washing out rice from her body. The work is about being optimistic of the future, whether that be with regards to wealth, relationship, children etc. The artist often depicts shower scenes and water droplets as a way to allude to fluidity of thought and introspection.
Larissa De Jesús Negrón is a multidisciplinary artist who yearns for introspection and finds self evaluation through her intimate and often otherworldly spaces and portraits. Her stylistically varied and neo-surreal imagery is linked to the artist’s curiosity of the subconscious and Neuroticism. The artist has a profound interest in healing and addressing her childhood and adult trauma through her work. These mundane moments of despair, fear and excitement are brought to the eyes of the viewer as a cathartic way to connect. Larissa De Jesús Negrón was born and raised in Puerto Rico and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
25% of the sale proceeds from these works will be donated to Safe Passage Project, a New York charity which provides legal support to immigrant and refugee children facing deportation.
