Founded in 2020 as a platform for specially commissioned artworks by women, Her Clique is opening its flagship exhibition space in Lisbon, Portugal on February 15. To inaugurate the gallery, Her Clique is presenting MALCRIADAS, a group show featuring 21 contemporary, women and non-binary artists whose practices embody the essence of the Portuguese term that loosely translates to “bad girls.”

As we welcome viewers to our physical space in Lisbon, MALCRIADAS brings together some of the artists Her Clique has worked with over the years. United by their shared interest in breaking down patriarchal barriers, challenging social norms, and amplifying critical — often uncomfortable — questions of systemic injustices and toxic conventions, the fierce artists in the show represent the past, present, and future of bad girls in the art world. Visits are by appointment only - please e-mail hi@herclique.com.
