Her Clique is proud to present the solo exhibiton of Portuguese artist Graça Pereira Coutinho. The exhibition will feature paintings, sculpture and installation pieces spanning over four decades of the artist's practice.
''I have spent my life collecting sand and ashes on beaches, deserts, and cities, and gluing these materials onto sheets of paper. In the studio, smelling of acrylic paint, canvases to be stretched, immersed in a tunnel of creative energy, connected to the universe, having dreams, ideas. Dream reader, that's what I am. I seek silence. I draw in the air. I write letters to myself, from my memories.
I try to unite my various lives and understand the multitude of my “self”. To grasp my shadow is to carry it to a good, pleasant place.The chosen materials show the fragility and strength of the universe.''
The exbibition will open on May 30 from 6-9 PM at Her Clique as one of Lisbon Design Week's spotlight sections.
